Their establishment was following heightened kidnapping and abduction of commuters across the roads, especially on the Maiduguri – Damaturu Expressway, being the only major road leading in and out of the city.
This assurance by the squad came after resumption of attacks last Thursday where passengers were abducted, after almost similar abduction last week – with all the victims later rescued by the Nigerian Army.
Mirror Nigeria understood that the comeback attack on the road has similarly prompted the Nigerian Army to deploy additional troops from Super Camp 2 Ngamdu, 7 Division Garrison and 212 battalion on the road.
