15m Nigerians Into Drug Abuse – NDLEA Boss

According to Buba Marwa, the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), over 15 million people in Nigeria utilize drugs.

Marwa disclosed this yesterday in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, during a visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun as part of the NDLEA’s nationwide evaluation and advocacy tour.

“The prevalence in Nigeria is three times the global average, approximately 15 million Nigerians are into drugs. And sadly, the prevalence in the South West turns out to be the highest in the country at 22.4 per cent. Lagos State is 33 per cent, Ogun is 17 per cent,” he said.
