Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has recalled Mr Cyprian Akaolisa, the state’s fired Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General.
The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) interdicted and suspended Akaolisa for five years in June for alleged professional misconduct.
On May 12th, Uzodinma announced the dismissal of 20 members of his cabinet, including Akaolisa.
But in a statement on Monday, the governor said Akaolisa was not affected when the state executive council was dissolved.
The statement, which was signed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said, “the error which occurred when the sacking of the commissioners was announced is highly regretted.”
He asked Akaolisa to immediately resume his normal duties, saying,” he was never dropped from the state cabinet.
